Built around a powerful faceted search tool.
Alpine’s web site design revolves around the ability to search and find bearings. Metropolis implemented a custom search tool that brings the visitor to a shopping cart ordering system. We shot custom photography of both the ball bearings and Alpine’s clean room.
Alpine Bearing distributes high quality bearings produced by the industry’s leading manufacturers. Alpine has over 600,000 parts in stock and the ability to purchase and ship internationally. Their re-lubrication center is a class 10,000 clean room with Class 100 laminar bench work stations certified to Federal Standard 209E.
Multiple ways to find what you’re looking for
In addition to a keyword search tool, we created a faceted search system that lets customers enter as little or as much info as they want. Search drop-downs populate based on previous selections. Users can also browse through the menu system and drill down by category.
E-commerce without the checkout
The website was built around a WooCommerce cart system that lets customers add items to their cart for a quote. We custom designed the cart to look more like a quoting tool. It then processes a zero-dollar sale and submits to the sales department for quoting and confirmation.
We shot their clean room and ball bearings
Bearings were carefully shot for the different areas of the website. We also went on location to shoot some interior shots including their clean room, which is a big differentiator for them.
The Results
Customers can easily find the right bearing they are looking for with the interactive faceted search tools.
