A home for music.
The school now has 900 students, and a faculty of 60 professional musicians. Programs include private lessons, group classes, ensembles, summer music programs, music therapy, a recording studio, and offers concerts and events throughout the year. They serve all age groups, from young kids to adults.
Everyone at WCMS loves the website that Metropolis designed. It was a big project, but Mike was always readily available to help customize and problem-solve to meet our many needs. We’re very happy with the outcome.
Mega Menu Design
Large menus allow users to view all options at a glance. We also included a sidebar element so the school could feature certain classes, events or announcements. The menus are all easily editable in the WordPress menu system.
Categorized Events Calendar
WCMS needed a way to display upcoming events by category in their calendar. We used The Events Calendar Pro and added color-coded categories. Events and categories are easily maintained by the client in the back end of WordPress.
Every website design starts with a set of wireframes to help us better understand what content is needed on each page. A good page design should tell a story in the right order. Size and position help set the hierarchy of how the content will be consumed. The bulk of the site’s structure happens in these blueprints before we move on to the color design mockups.
The Results
The Winchester Community Music School has unveiled an impressive new website that truly reflects their high standard of musical education and performances. With a well-structured course catalog, parents, students, and individuals can now easily pinpoint their areas of interest. The newly designed events calendar makes it a breeze for attendees to explore specific events by category. Thanks to the meticulously crafted code structure, visitors can enjoy a seamless browsing experience across all devices. Moreover, the client now has complete autonomy to efficiently manage all aspects of their site, from updating content to adding new pages and formatting specific elements.
