Life sciences meet e-commerce.
seqWell can now sell library prep kits via their e-commerce enabled WordPress website. Resource documents are fed to different pages on the site in addition to being housed in an interactive resource center. Metropolis also shot the product photography and created custom illustrations for the website.
seqWell’s plexWell™ platform is a transformative library prep technology that allows for simple, scalable multiplexing of 100s to 1000s of samples without time- and cost-consuming normalization. plexWell has wide-ranging impact on applications from synthetic biology, targeted sequencing and single-cell analysis to low and high depth sequencing of human, plant, animal and microbial genomes.
I've worked with big San Francisco and New York design firms in the past, and Metropolis has an unmatched collaborative and organic design process. I genuinely felt included in the process. As new ideas popped up, Metropolis offered solutions to help keep us on-budget without negatively impacting the overall design.
In-house Product Photography
One of the benefits of keeping the product photography in-house was that we could plan the design, coordinate the shots, and retouch them exactly as needed to fit our design. Turnaround times for new or updated photography are very fast too.
Simple, Yet Powerful E-commerce
The custom product page design has a flexible template that includes product descriptions, diagrams, resources, and related products. Taxes and shipping are calculated automatically, and users can choose from several payment methods.
Brochures, MSDS, and Videos
Documents can be tagged by content type as well as by product type. This allows content to be pulled dynamically to different pages of the site, and improves the site’s SEO.
Diagrams, Charts, and Product Illustration
The home page uses a product illustration that is half custom photography, half illustration in order to present a super-crisp image. Lower on the page, a custom diagram illustrates the time and cost-savings customers will get using these products.
The Results
In addition to being a brand and marketing tool, the website generates sales via the online store.
